DEAP is open to all undergraduate IU Indianapolis students who can benefit from intensive support along their academic journey. Students of color are strongly encouraged to participate as a means to engage, connect, affirm, and guide them toward academic success.
Joining DEAP
Students may join DEAP through one of two different ways:
DEAP First-Year Application
Incoming first-year students can apply to be part of DEAP prior to beginning their first semester at IU Indianapolis. This application can be accessed between March and August.
- Complete the DEAP first-year application below
- Attend the DEAP Summer Live Session
- Complete intake meeting
- Attend Bridge Week
- Attend DEAP Induction
- You are now an official DEAP Scholar!
DEAP General Program Application
(for current and transfer IU Indianapolis undergraduate students)
IU Indianapolis transfer and currently enrolled students are invited to apply to the program using the DEAP general program application provided below. DEAP is open to all undergraduate students who commit to being active and engaged participants. First-year students who did not apply before August will be directed to use the DEAP general program application.

- Schedule & complete introductory meeting
- You are now an official DEAP Scholar!
